From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat that they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and the craziest of ideas, he is certainly loads of fun. He turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure...but what will mum find when she gets home...?

What does Sensory Friendly mean?

A Sensory Friendly performance is a live-theatre production that welcomes individuals with sensory needs, including people on the autism spectrum, as well as first-time theatregoers and young children. This specific performance is modified to allow for patron movement; staff and actors are trained to accommodate patron needs, and all patrons are welcome to experience theatre in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

Environmental adjustments to create a friendly, supportive environment, as well as alterations to the performance, include:

*The house lights will remain dimmed during the performance, rather than completely off.
*Actors will not wear microphones.
*The intensity of lighting and sound effects will be reduced and/or eliminated.
*A staffed quiet area will be available in the lobby for those who need to take a break from the show.
*There will be a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere where patrons can feel comfortable during the performance and enter or exit the theater during the performance. They may get up. Walk around. Talk. Each patron may enjoy the show in a manner that is comfortable for them.

*Tablets and smartphones will be permitted to help non-verbal audience members communicate
